Meet the Publishing Pros: Literary Agents Brenda Bowen, John Silbersack, and Emma Sweeney

This event is part of a periodic series held by The New York Society Library. It’ll offer attendees a prime opportunity to discuss industry trends with the influential agents shaping them. The agencies represented are Greenburger Associates, The Bent Agency, and the Emma Sweeney Agency LLC.

Franklin Park’s 10th Annual Short Fiction Night

Repeatedly praised, and often lauded as one of the best literary series in the city, Franklin Park often hosts an excellent array of talent. This upcoming short fiction panel will include readings from Hannah Tinti, Chaya Bhuvaneswar, Laura Adamczyk, Kem Joy Ukwu, and Matthew Daddona.

Laurie Halse Anderson: Speak 20thAnniversary

Was this book part of anyone else’s high school curriculum? Following the freshman year of a teenage rape victim, Melinda’s fear, uncertainty, and trauma are so palpable in the novel. It’s been a long time since I’ve read it, but the book’s impact still resonates with me, and I’m looking forward to Anderson’s reading.

A Celebration of Ursula K. Le Guin

Writers Michael Chabon, Karen Joy Fowler, N.K. Jemisin, and Luis Alberto Urrea pay tribute to Ursula K. Le Guin. Le Guin passed away in January 2018. One year after her passing, fans can come together to celebrate the author who gave us the worlds of Earthsea and Hain.

The Ladies Who Brunch Discuss: The Friend
