In June of 1969 the Stonewall Riots rocked NY. Out of the violence, discrimination, and resistance that pervaded that time, progress and civil right gains were made for members of the LGBQTIA community. As you go through Pride Month, take some time to reflect on the cultural and Literary we’ve experienced since that time. Some of the Bookish Events below will help you get started.

Diana Altman — WNBA long-term member and host of our Annual Spring Brunch — will be launching her new book We Never Told at Shakespeare & Co. tomorrow night! Come support her and learn about Diana’s new book. Set in the 1950’s, We Never Told follows the consequences of conceiving a child out of wedlock during this conservative era.

Summer Friday Picnic Lunch

Celebrate summer fridays by joining us for a long lunch in Central Park! Unwind, soak in the sun, and sit back while the writers of the group regale you with some of the stories they’ve written! This will be a great event to meet other members and get some fresh air.
