This evening, in honor of Pride Week, the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe is hosting an event called “Shameless: Pride Week with Melissa Febos, Ariel Levy, and More.” The Housing Works Bookstore Cafe is a New York institution, where merchandise is all donated and the staff is almost entirely volunteer. According to their website, tonight “Melissa Febos (Whip Smart) curates a lineup of queer women writers to share shameless stories of sex, love, rebellion, redemption, and pride.” The event will include prose and poetry readings, as well as film. Contributors include Laurie Weeks, Kelli Dunham, Ariel Levy, Pamela Sneed, Katrina Del Mar, Shelly Oria, and Rachel Simon. This event takes place tonight, Tuesday, June 19 at 7:00 PM, at 126 Crosby Street in downtown New York. For more information, visit the event page on their website.
