Celia Jeffries
Author of Blue Desert
Celia Jeffries’ work has appeared in numerous newspapers and literary magazines including Westview, Solstice Literary Magazine, and Puerto del Sol, as well as the anthology Beyond the Yellow Wallpaper. She has received grants from Turkey Land Cove Foundation, The Massachusetts Cultural Council, and La Muse. Jeffries holds an MA from Brandeis and worked in news and educational publishing before earning an MFA from Lesley University. She has worked with writers at all levels, from elementary school to university both here and abroad, and in many different communities, including incarcerated, literacy, and ESL programs. Her own writing has been nurtured in the community of writers in Western Massachusetts, where she is a founding member and served on the steering committee of Straw Dog Writers Guild, and where she offers workshops at Pioneer Valley Writers Workshop. BLUE DESERT, her debut novel, was a finalist for the May Sarton Award and the IPNE Literary Fiction Award.
Cheryl J. Fish
Author of Off the Yoga Mat
Cheryl J. Fish’s debut novel OFF THE YOGA MAT, the story of three characters coming of middle age, will be published by Livingston Press/UWA on Oct. 20, 2022. Her short fiction has appeared in Iron Horse Literary Review, Cheap Pop, Spank the Carp, Liars League, Boog City and KGB Bar Lit. Her poems have appeared in journals and anthologies including Hanging Loose, Maintenant, Terrain, Mom Egg Review, New American Writing, Reed, Postcard poems, Santa Monica Review, ISLE, and Poetics for the More-than-Human-World. Her recent books of poetry are CRATER & TOWER, reflecting on trauma and ecology after Mount St. Helens Volcanic eruption and the terrorist attack of 9/11/01, and THE SAUNA IS FULL OF MAIDS, poems and photographs celebrating Finnish sauna culture, travel, and friendships. Fish has been a Fulbright professor in Finland, visiting professor at Mount Holyoke College, and has had residencies at Atlantic Center for the Arts, Ragdale, and Gullkistan. She is professor of English at BMCC/City University of New York and docent lecturer at University of Helsinki. Her website is cheryljfish.com
DeMisty D. Bellinger
Author of New to Liberty
DeMisty D. Bellinger’s publications include the novel New to Liberty (Unnamed Press, 2022), as well as poetry collections Peculiar Heritage (Mason Jar Press, 2021), and Rubbing Elbows (Finishing Line Press, 2017). She also has publications in various journals including The Rumpus, Contrary Magazine, and OkayDonkey and anthologies, including And If That Mockingbird Don’t Sing and Best Small Fictions 2019. She has placed twice in Wigleaf’s Top 50 (Very) Short Stories, in 2022 and 2014. DeMisty has a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, an MFA from Southampton College, and a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She teaches creative writing at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts.
Mara Anastas

Mara Anastas has been working in Publishing for over 30 years. She has held various roles in Sales at HarperCollins, and Scholastic, and spent the last 21 years in various leadership roles at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing where she was most recently Publisher of a few imprints. While she is currently exploring new opportunities in Publishing she has joined the WNBA to lend her skills to this amazing organization.
