UN Corner: UNICEF Appeals for $1.28 Billion to Assist Children in 2012

In her New York Bookwoman column, “UN Corner,” Jill Tardiff highlights UNICEF’s recent appeal for humanitarian aid in 2012.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced its appeal for $1.28 billion to provide humanitarian assistance to children in twenty-five countries. One third of the total amount requested is earmarked for the hundreds of thousands of women and children in the Horn of Africa who are on the brink of survival.
