Member Mondays: Our New Board Members and Blog Interns!

Karen Abraham – Co-Corresponding Secretary
Karen grew up in New York and Paris. She has a B.A. in Economics from McGill University, graduated from HEC business school in France, and is currently completing a certificate in Botanical Art & Illustration at the New York Botanical Garden. Her professional experience spans the fields of broadcasting, advertising, and international development. She recently completed a manuscript for a novel, based on her travels in Latin America, and is working on a collection of short stories.

Lily Barrish – VP/Program Chair
Lily has worked in the publishing field for the past 7 years, first as an assistant editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and now as a copywriter at Triumph Learning. She is currently enrolled at Pratt University and will be graduating with an MLS in May. Lily has an English/Creative Writing BA from UCF. In November she wrote her first Library Journal book review. Lily has been a member of the WNBA for the past two years, and is excited to become more involved in the organization!

Hannah Bennett – WNBA-NYC Blog Intern
Hannah has just finished her first semester in the M.S. in Publishing Program at Pace University. She aspires to one day put her love of books, writing, and editing to good use as an editor of fiction. Hannah moved to New York City recently from North Carolina. So far it’s been an exciting and fantastic adventure! Hannah is happy to become a part of the WNBA and is looking forward to meeting the rest of the chapter!

Erica Misoshnik – WNBA-NYC Blog Intern
Erica Misoshnik is a full time graduate student in Pace University’s Publishing Program as well as a part time after-school literature teacher. She hopes to combine her own love of books and her experience working with kids by becoming an editor of children’s, middle grade, or young adult books. She is very excited to be a member of the WNBA, especially as a blog intern!
