Around Town: Who Gives a Sh*t About Literary Magazines?

BookCourt is home to one of the WNBA’s favorite literary event series in Brooklyn. This September, BookCourt has events scheduled nearly every single day of the month, including readings with authors like Joyce Johnson, Andy Greenberg, and Naomi Wolf. But author readings are not the only feature of this diverse event series. Next Monday, BookCourt will be hosting a panel on the impact of literary magazines in contemporary culture, called ‘Who Gives a Sh*t About Literary Magazines?’ Appearing on the panel will be Lorin Stein of The Paris Review, Rob Spillman of Tin House, John Freeman of Granta, and Randy Rosenthal of The Coffin Factory. They will be discussing the place of these and other literary magazines in today’s culture.

This panel discussion will take place on September 17th at 7:00 PM in BookCourt’s Greenhouse, located at 163 Court Street in Brooklyn. Following the discussion, there will be an audience Q&A. For more information on the panel or other BookCourt events, visit the BookCourt website here!
