Around Town: Secrets of Publishing Book Reviews

We at the New York Chapter of the WNBA love our independent NY bookstores, so we often highlight indie bookstore events on the blog. But of course, the behemoths of bookselling, Barnes and Noble, also hold great literary events in their many locations around town. This week, we thought we’d call attention to an event that is a little less typical for them—a panel called “Secrets of Publishing Book Reviews and Features.” This panel will be a discussion with the editors of the New York Times Book Review, Wall Street Journal,Time Out New York, Brooklyn Rail, and Book Forum. Moderated by author Susan Shapiro, the panel will give audience members an insider’s look at the process of book reviewing.

The “Secrets of Publishing Book Reviews” panel will take place on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 7:00 PM. This event will be held in the Park Slope Barnes and Noble, which is located at 267 7th Avenue in Brooklyn. For more information on the panel, visit the Barnes and Nobel website here!
