This fellowship meets monthly and selects a work by Dickens they will read and discuss over the span of the year. This year they have chosen Nicholas Nickleby. A work that, in true Dickens fashion, takes a look at the social injustice of the time in a humorous and relatable way. They ask you have assigned reading complete by the meeting time. This month’s chapters are 8-14.

Join Lee Grant as she discusses her memoir. A stage and screen actress, as well as an Emmy winner, Grant delves into her life as an actress. She also will discuss her refusal to testify against her husband, playwright Arnold Manoff, before the House Un-American Activities Committee. Her choice left her blacklisted for 12 years, but did not destroy her career.

Join above-mentioned authors and editors to discuss Crime Fiction and the serious cultural attention this genre has been experiencing. Crime fiction has been attracting some of the most intelligent and shrewd writers and readers, while shows like True Detective and Breaking Bad are piquing more in-depth questions. The present and future of this genre will be looked at and discussed, with renowned Crime Fiction critic, Sarah Weinmen, moderating.
